Most civil claims must be commenced within 2 years of discovering the claim under the Limitations Act, 2002. Some exceptions apply.

Simple motions: weeks. Cases going to trial: typically 2 to 4 years in the Ontario Superior Court, depending on complexity.

A court order requiring a party to do or stop doing something. Urgent injunctions can be obtained on as little as 24 hours notice.

Partial costs are typically awarded to the successful party in Ontario, covering roughly 50 to 65 percent of actual legal fees.
